Between The Boys, Invincible, and Superman & Lois, super-daddy issues are all the rage right now. Starting May 7, we can add Netflix’s Kuis olahragato the list.
Based on a comic by Mark Millar (Kick-Ass, Kingsman), the new Netflix series stars Josh Duhamel and Leslie Bibb as two superpowered parents raising the next generation of Justice League-esque heroes. But as the show’s official description notes, “tensions rise as the young superheroes, hungry to prove their worth, struggle to live up to their parents’ legendary public reputations — and exacting personal standards.” Ben Daniels, Elena Kampouris, Andrew Horton, Mike Wade, Matt Lanter, and Ian Quinlan round out the cast.
In 2017, at a moment of peak Marvel and DC comic book movie hype, Netflix struck a deal with Millar to acquire the comic creator’s company Millarworld.
“As creator and re-inventor of some of the most memorable stories and characters in recent history, ranging from Marvel’s The Avengers to Millarworld’s Kick-Ass, Kingsman, Wanted and RebornKuis olahraga franchises, Mark is as close as you can get to a modern day Stan Lee,” said Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos at the time. “We can’t wait to harness the creative power of Millarworld to Netflix and start a new era in global storytelling.”
Jupiter’s Legacy is the first show to result from the deal. The series premieres in full on May 7.
